==[ INTRUDER DETECTED ]==
In the midst of the industrial processes and blaring sirens going on around it, the newly created Crab Bot hastily scuttled its way along the corridors of the Egg Base towards its prey. Someone had managed to break into the facility, and through some clever redirecting of electrical currents, disable almost every Badnik in the entire place. There was only a handful of machines left operational now, leaving the intruder almost free to carry out whatever plans they had in mind. Despite the myriad noises echoing throughout the building, though, the Crab Bot had happened to pick up on something else amongst the racket.
Footsteps.
Someone was running, and the mechanical crustacean was determined to catch up. Actuators pulsed and servos whirred as its six legs sent it scampering from hallway to hallway, perfectly following the map of the facility stored in its memory banks. It could hear the footfalls growing louder, along with another sound, rhythmic, in time with them. It was difficult to categorize the new noise. Clapping, perhaps? The machine didn’t have much time to ponder on that, however, as the footsteps came to a stop, and the machine rounded the next corner.
==[ TARGET LOCATED ]===
There they were. Stopped in front of a security door at the other end of the corridor, attaching some manner of handheld device to the scanner on the wall alongside. Auburn hair that fell just past the shoulders, small ears and stubby tail that closely resembled chipmunk features, and two enormous blue orbs jutting out behind her.
There was no doubt about it, this was the figure of Princess Sally Acorn. She had been causing The Good Doctor no end of problems, sneaking into his factories, stealing highly secret information, and breaking so much infrastructure. And furniture. The princess was at it again, and they had to stop her.
There may not have been any other Badniks around, but the Crab Bot calculated that it could still take her down on its own, easily! If it did, it might even be given a promotion! Rushing towards its target, sensors focused as the door slid open with a mechanical hiss, the Crab Bot leapt forward, claws outstretched and ready to carve the intruder apart-
“Princess!”
The handheld device on the wall cried out in alarm, the intruder glanced over her shoulder for a split second, and then spun herself around, swinging a leg out behind her and driving her heel straight into the underside of the Badnik.
Sally may have preferred to avoid fighting Eggman’s robotic goons given the chance, but being part of the Freedom Fighters meant extensive combat training, and that meant knowing how to throw a kick. However, while most of the Freedom fighters could kick with plenty of power, Sally’s kicks came with the all the incredible weight of her massive, meaty thighs and her huge, fat ass behind them too.
The Crab Bot didn’t stand a chance. Dozens, scores, hundreds of error messages flashed up in the blink of an electric eye as claws, legs, panels, gears, linkages, motors, batteries were torn from their mountings and strewn, clattering across the floor from the overwhelming impact, tumbling and crashing before finally coming to a stop.
The alarms had fallen silent.
The building had turned pitch black.
And one final message flashed up in the Crab Bot’s circuitry.
The building had turned pitch black.
