I’ve been in the fandom a very long time, so I wanted to draw all of my sonas from the beginning and bring them to light once again.
Terry the fox was the first sona of mine and shoes and shoeloss has been around since the beginning with him, though not a lot of people know this character. He eventually became his own character Terry and I even gave him his signature clothes. I was a bit of an Etnies fan and skateboard shoes were very wide fitting.
Mutteo was my second sona and most people know of the pup with the red nose. He helped me get through my depression and brought out the bright vibrant colors that you know me so well for. Today he spawned Ultramutt, but his original design has hardly been touched. Maybe he’s due for a comeback?
Aodhan is the duck on the right is my 3rd sona when I first became obsessed with birds. They helped me expand on the colors, that birds can be as colorful as their clothes. He is the cooler side of me that I don’t show so often. He probably would have stayed my sona except when I changed my art style, his design didn’t translate well and his design when all over the place. Today I have a kid Aodhan, which is far removed from the original, and Dexter, which is nowhere near the same coolness as OG Aodhan. This is another design that I feel needs a comeback.
Kayla the bunny has never been my sona but I wanted to include her as an important part of my life. She was the first girl I ever designed and despite everything, remains of of my favorite characters. She reminds me that there is more than just a pretty face. She has the most substance even compared to most of my guy characters. Her design has also been the most faithful today as it was back then, except she’s gotten a bit wackier over the years.
Finally we have my 4th and final sona Mobi. I don’t know how I ended up becoming the fishy nerd in the giant clown shoes, but he is everything that is me. I’ve been as this for a couple decades, and it’s amazing how far I have gone over the years.
