I’ve been agonizing over what to name this girl for far longer than I’d like to admit, but I think I’ve finally got something.

I just couldn’t find anything, I’ve spent ages going through baby names websites looking for anything that is even remotely relevant (that also fit her and wasn’t too close to something I already had), browsing through every language in google translate to see if any relevant words felt name-like enough, words like lion, eagle, mixture, smart, so on and so forth. Just… nothing. Nothing that seemed to fit.

But then finally while idly browsing through some african girl’s names (because lions come from that area and she’s part lion I guess. I was reaching pretty hard at this point) I stumbled on the name Izefia. If the internet is to be believed it means “I have no child”, which seems like a pretty mean thing to name your kid… Unless you never wanted them. This could explain her fascination with her own un-hybridized species and how she even came to exist, since she never had anyone around to answer those questions growing up due to being abandoned at a young age. It’s a bit mean of a backstory for a silly porn character, but it creates some intrigue if nothing else. It’s feminine, without being -too- frail or girly, after all she’s a rough ‘n tumble beast wrangler. It’s exotic sounding without being too out there. (I know the names I give my characters are weird, but I just can’t bring myself to create fanastical beasts and then give them everyday people names, it just feels too silly).

Meet Izefia! She already kind of had a ref sheet, but that was really more of a character exploration thingie. It’s become a bit of a tradition to create a proper ref sheet of a character when I finally name them, and so here we are. I hope you like my weird dergryph thingie.
