ooh, I still wanted to finish this challenge, but it seems that everything will stop there for now. back in the 2020s, I started drawing “draw in the style of your favorite artists” challenge and was able to handle only with four.
I think the concept itself is quite interesting and imitating other people’s styles is an exciting activity in its own way.
I have been familiar with the artwork of Vivien Medrano for quite a long time. to be more precise, somewhere at the beginning of work on the animated video “Die Young”. what Vivien had already drawn inspired me at that moment. skinny style, thin line, colorful colors and smoothness in animation directly charged with the desire to draw and do something. so I used to take over some of her tricks and even tried to draw a suuuper thin line. spoiler - this is not my thing. now I feel more relaxed about her work, although in general I still like her style, character designs and ideas.
as you might have guessed, the most challenging thing for me was the line. not super thin, but..It’s still difficult. thin, smooth, and those smooth lines… wow! but it was already much easier for me at the stage of painting and shading. partly thanks to the speedpaints, partly because it turns out that I do some of the effects in a similar way in my drawings, only with different brushes, with a different contrast, and so on. I think this just shows an example of how an artist reworks the experience and techniques of another artist and uses them in his work the way he sees himself.
