✦ Cocadope style ✦
ooh, I still wanted to finish this challenge, but it seems that everything will stop there for now. back in the 2020s, I started drawing “draw in the style of your favorite artists” challenge and was able to handle only with four.
I think the concept itself is quite interesting and imitating other people’s styles is an exciting activity in its own way.

for me, Cocadope is one of the best examples of good simple style. I really love simple stylized drawing! simple lines, simple color, a few semitones and so on. it’s cool when you can show really interesting and complex things with simple shapes. even if this is just drawing with anthropomorphic animals, heh. in general, it was the Cocadope style that I liked for its sharpness. sharp and clear lines, a moderate palette and very simple shadows. and when I say “simple,” I don’t mean “lazily done” or “the author didn’t even try,” okay? in addition, if you look at different drawings, Cocadope’s style is actually very fickle. tthe proportions of the characters change, the palette changes a bit, the shape of the muzzles. in the drawings for 2019, a lot of smooth lines appear at all. it’s great to see how an artist doesn’t stand still and tries different things.
for me, the palette and proportions in his style turned out to be difficult. it has always been difficult for me to choose, even if there are only two positions to choose from. and here there were too many of them, from chibiks to stylization that was almost minimized. so most of the time I sketched and tried to choose how it would look better and how my hand would like to draw more.
