Commission. The artist has recently cleared her DA page and she said I could re-post them.

Back in December of 2011, I commissioned Betsy Cole to do a series of artwork that would not be finished until the September of 2012. It shows animal characters from Disney Animated films about pets (so Bambi and Fox and the Hound were not included) as anthros dressed in outfits appropriate to the period each movie was set in. They were made in the order the films were released. I spent a lot of time finding model sheets for the characters and pictures of period fashion so that each drawing would look as authentic as possible.

The third in the series is The Aristocats. To be honest, this is my least favorite film of the bunch. While I do think Duchess, O’Malley, and the kittens are likable characters, the plot meanders all over the place and there are scenes that could have easily been cut out of the film. Also, and this may just be a personal taste, but I do think the animals were a bit too anthropomorphized at times, ESPECIALLY Scat Cat and the gang. Mice are one thing, but seeing dogs and cats have thumbs and walk on two legs in a world where they are suppose to be four legged pets is somewhat distracting.

Speaking of anthropomorphized, here they are in 1910 garb. We have Duchess playing the harp, Thomas O’Malley playing the harmonica, Marie singing, Beloriz playing the piano, and Toulouse taking a break from painting to imitate his idol. While I did like the idea of the kittens being artistic prodigies that still act like children, I think it works better with them as anthros rather than regular cats.
