Description
Back from a bit of a hiatus! I had fun snowboarding on a trip away from home. Lots of fun, and a much needed break from laser engraving as I was getting a bit burnt out. Back and better than ever though!
These little guys were one of the first projects I did upon my return! They are cut out of 1.5 mm wood, 2 layers a piece. I did this so that I could paint on an easy pattern underneath the line art(2nd layer) then glue the 2nd layer on top of the painted first layer! They are fragile, but came out great! I’m not sure if I’d like to do pins this way as it does leave a lot of room for inconsistency when gluing the two layers together. Parts of the pin can be shifted around if not properly glued down… They look great when they turn out though! The wood on top is then patted with a nice little black ink stamp to make the line art pop! I’m definitely gonna have some fun making some personal pins using this method!
