Sonic Boom is another part of Sonic’s history but it’s not the kind that many fans want to consider him as but for me, it didn’t matter, I enjoyed it every second. Back in 2014, we were getting ready for a big surprise from Sega about Sonic back in 2014 with this new version of him, many of fans started to question of this new Sonic after seeing the promotional artwork from him that made us confused and skeptical until we see the trailer to Sonic Boom. New new series heading into Sonic but more of a spinoff of him that what we know about Modern Sonic. Boom Sonic is much taller than Modern Sonic, he has more quills on his spines, blue arms, wears a brown scarf, different designed shoes from his normal shoes, and sports tape wrapping around his arms, legs, gloves and shoes.

To many of the fans, they were in shock by many of the characters that we know and love like Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, Dr. Eggman, Vector, Orbot, Cubot, and Metal Sonic were going to be in this new format but the only ones we saw was the 8 characters because Vector came in later. Each of them had their own unique designs and characteristics from what we known them for, but I found it interesting from how we see these characters in this alternate reality of Sonic and I really enjoyed the most of it and it was fun. We even got original characters from this franchise and the most well-known original character is Sticks the Badger, a badger girl who believes in conspiracies against the government, robot apocalypse, and very weird but she is strong and part of Team Sonic with her boomerang until later uses different weapons like a staff to help fight off against enemies. And we all can’t forget that we thought it was Marine the Raccoon from Sonic Rush Adventure because of the design but I knew it was someone different.

To many fans, except me, didn’t approve of this, so when the first episode of Sonic Boom released, of course fans were still skeptical about it but when the games came out for Sonic Boom, they did not end will at the very lease, only Sonic Dash 2 which is a Sonic Boom version from the games did much better than Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal, and Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice. But overall, as the show continued, it gained much more popularity from old fans and new fans that it got a second season with more adventure, more comedy, and self-awareness of its own product. But it’s not about the show, it also got merch and comics for us to buy including re-releases of the show.

Sonic Boom didn’t get a good reception to many but I still see this part of the history of Sonic the is still most known to many of us who actually draw him for fanart, you can’t lie to me, I see it. Re-watching the show, having the merch and comics. As much no one wants to play to games, they are still part of this series and for those who want to suffer playing, go ahead because I like watch people suffer.

I like Boom Sonic, I don’t care if I get made fun of for liking him, I still go on YouTube and watch the out of context clips or watching Sonic being a sassy dork, I will always remember this being part of his history and that he’s still well-known to fans who actually enjoyed it.
