Vintage Icons
A couple of vintage icons for the runners up of the ‘Tasty Cover’ design competition.
I absolutely loved making these! They were so much fun to do. These icons are, in essence, a character sketch worked over a custom textured background (made to look like old paper) with the ever-present splat to finish the whole thing off. :) The idea for these had been floating around in my mind for a while, so it was great to finally try the technique out.
So these are for :icongonah: :iconleonca: :iconlordfenrir: :iconpuppeteerz:.
Gonah’s was an unusual request for my Sweeney and Mrs Lovett characters having a ‘tender’ moment, and drawing this was bloomin’ hard! Guh! I’m so used to drawing them scowling and moaning at each other. Although the original String of Pearls mentions nothing about a romance between them, it’s possible that the characters may have been fond of each other when they first met… possibly. Leonca asked for her werewolf character Sombra (and werewolves are always a fun subject), Lord Fenrir, his character of the same name and Puppeteerz asked for his fursona in a Sweeney Todd style. I don’t know why, but his character seemed to be giving off ‘gentlemanly vibes’, so he is depicted preparing to have a shave in front of the mirror… perhaps he’ll also figure out another more sinister use for those razors. :D
Guys, I’ll supply you with size variations a little later… hope you like them! :)
