I finished the game yesterday. I spent two whole days playing almost without pause and I’ve gotta say, it’s one of the best games I’ve ever played. Of course, it’s a Mystery Dungeon game, so that was kinda expected. The thing that actually surprised me was that this game almost equaled - it’s virtually impossible to surpass - Explorers Of Time/Darkness/Sky in epic, legendary level. So when I finished it, absolutely mesmerized by the story, the soundtrack and the graphics, I HAD to do a tribute drawing of this game. It was one of these moments I call “critical inspiration hit”.I won’t give any spoilers of the story and the characters, if you’ve played it you’ll know who is who and the role they play. If you haven’t, then you’ll find out if you play this amazing game.My team is called Team Astrum. I was Snivy (Phoenix) and my partner was Axew (Alex) - now Serperior and Fraxure, both main characters and team name chosen in honor of my favorite character of Final Fantasy XIII, Hope Estheim, the phoenix being his symbol and Alexander his Eidolon, and his eidolith has the shape of a star, hence the name “astrum”, which means “star”. You can imagine my amazement when I found out that the whole plot of Gates To Infinity is strongly driven by hope, not to mention the Rainbow of Hope. I couldn’t have chosen a better arc theme for my team.Done by pencil, pencil colors and outliner pen. Effects and lighting done by Photoshop.Long time since the last time I drew Pokémon, and this is the first time I’ve drawn… well, basically all these Pokémon except for Espeon and Umbreon. I found easier than usual drawing them, so I guess all this time doing Final Fantasy XIII artwork has been worth it in a way. Probably I’ll try to draw more Pokémon in the future, this game made my Pokémon-fan-side come to the surface again. The Magnagate and the Entercards are kind of sketchy, but it’s hard to draw something just by your memory. I think they’re recognizable, though.Hope you like it!And play the game if you haven’t, it’s worth it.
