In another of my unfinished short stories, my hippie collie girl Alexandra…, Alex…, gets caught in a rural “be-in” getting broken up by the local sheriff’s office. When the raid begins Alex is shyly stripping off hidden in the bushes bordering a pond in which people are skinny-dipping, so she avoids getting gathered up by the deputies. She creeps out carrying her clothes when all the other hippies have been carted off, only to discover that one deputy, an over-enthusiastic “Barney Fife” type, has stayed behind. Whoops!
