Description

BC 5th century, Sarmatian female warrior gets her man. Sarmatian females were supposedly forbidden to marry until they had killed an enemy. According to Herodotus, they would often kidnap the neighboring scythian or persian man to marry. In this drawing, persian man is depicted.
