Sequel to my “Mom 6” designs! I will link that below this text dump of info about each of them.“Troubleshoes” Clyde is one of the only horses in Equestria who lives in Ponyville. Not only is he enormous compared to the rest of the pony population, but his massive hooves are expensive to maintain, with the costs of farriers who are willing to work on such hooves being almost triple. He used to be unable to keep his hooves in good condition since he wasn’t able to afford it (and often took odd jobs to support himself as is), which eventually lead him to Fluttershy’s cottage seeking a place to stay (and help with fixing his hoof issues) when the Apples were unable to ihelp him properly. His new job is a caretaker to the animals that Fluttershy looks after! He is good with heavy lifting.
- Troubleshoes’ family doesn’t really talk to him much anymore aside from a winter holiday card every year. He has an older brother with a family himself, and his parents are the traveling type, so Fluttershy hasn’t met them. But maybe one day they will meet. Trouble and his brother used to be close but grew apart with time.
- Trouble is actually somewhat average for horses compared to what he is in Ponyville! Honestly I kinda picture where he came from to be Equestrian “Russia”, where they have to be relatively big to travel in the wider, colder, and rougher landscapes.
- He still loves to go to the rodeo but did part ways with it officially after Ochre was born. He still takes all his kids once or twice a year to go see everything, and it’s usually on Fluttershy and his anniversary, as that was technically where they first met.
Red “Big Mac” MacIntosh, being the brother of one of the heroes of Equestria, had a bit of a rough time keeping away from the spotlight. He was never a very outwardly public figure but the Equestrian Press started to get pretty involved in his life, and eventually, he had to basically live with the constant followers and interviewers. Sure, he didn’t mind being a local singer in the Pony Tones, but he never really wanted to go beyond some stray larger gigs. Either way, he got used to it and even married one of the Princesses (which didn’t exactly ease things lol). He is a very family oriented stallion and always wanted a lot of kids, similar to his father Bright Mac, who did as well.
- He watched his father succumb to horrible wounds in the Everfree from a Timberwolf attack, and his mother pass away only a few weeks later from heartbreak. Due to this, he is very against being anywhere near the Everfree, and wakes up with nightmares – he has PTSD. He does wonder if Bright Mac watches his family, and forgives him for being unable to help at the time. He did go and still goes to therapy for this.
- Sort of like Fluttershy, he tends to hide behind his mane as it’s the only thing that really seperates him from the world. But he does let Twilight brush it behind his ear romantically, it makes him feel tingly and special.
Lord Blueblood was always known as a very stuck-up, annoying stallion. And he definitely was! Eventually, his “aunt” Celestia got sick of his reputation and sent him to Applejack’s farm. Technically, she sent a scroll first, but Applejack didn’t receive the message before Blueblood came to her doorstep. Probably because she didn’t often have time to read letters during Harvest Season! With the farm being incredibly busy, Applejack decided putting him to work was the best option. At first, he hated all the muck and labour (and he was NOT used to it), but something in him was sparked. His cutiemark was in navigation and adventure, but as a kid, his royal status quickly made his parents unhappy with his talent and instead made him take math and sciences. It took a year or so, but he adjusted to the farm so well, he didn’t want to go back. Plus, a certain orange mare was really catching his eye…
- Blueblood’s mother was a blue mare with a navy mane, and his father was a golden stallion with a darker golden mane. Due to the fact his mother had been white when she was born and became blue over time, they decided to name him Blueblood with the expectation that he’d be the same… but then he stayed practically white. So they just pretended he was named for his eyes. It’s not true. Anyway, he doesn’t talk to his parents anymore after they insulted his wife, so none of that matters!
- Celestia isn’t actually Blueblood’s aunt. So, he is from a very old-money family that used to belong to Celestia’s court, so he grew up in/around the palace even without the roles that his family used to fill around anymore. He became relatively close to Celestia as a child and ended up calling her “auntie” by accident, and a simple public slip-up calling her that sent the tabloids into a tizzy with that information. The name is more playful now than anything, and Tia still calls him her nephew.
Sheriff Canyonrunner Silverstar, the sheriff of Appleoosa, is the unlikely partner of Rainbow Dash. They met again very suddenly, never really married, have three (four??) children, live apart most of the time, BUT they are completely in love with each other. In fact, Silverstar swears on his badge that he would die for Rainbow (dramatic, much?) no matter the situation. He grew up relatively unknown in the small community he lived in but quickly displayed a lot of leadership skills. He was taken under the past sheriff’s (metaphorical) wing, trained up, and once the older sheriff retired, was chosen to be the sheriff.
- Although when he was younger he had issues with growing a mustache (his old one is fake), he soon hit a random moment where he “started growin too much hair to know what to do with”. I imagine Rainbow trimming his ‘stache with one of those knives and it’s a very “oh yeah they’re definitely flirting” situation
- He’s a bit older than Rainbow Dash, being about ~45 whereas she’s in her mid 30s. He likes to do the “back when I was your age…” thing and she always swats him because of course she does. They have a pretty playful dynamic and are always able to fall right back into getting along even after long periods apart.
Sunburst was always a bit of an odd duck when it came to being an adult. Not only did he not really enjoy going out to meet with friends and such, he found that he just never was able to really even feel romantic feelings for anyone. Aside from a crush a long time ago, he pretty much never fell in love, and chalked it up to his introverted lifestyle. Cue Rarity, who helped him sort of break out of his shell a bit more when she moved in with him temporarily living with him. Not only did he open up to more outings (in moderation of course), he came to be much more at ease in crowds. Overall, even if he had never gotten into a relationship with Rarity – which had spawned from their friendship – he definitely would thank her for helping him with his anxiety and lack of self esteem. Even if she wasn’t really intentionally doing that.
- In my headcanon, the line direction/pattern on unicorn horns usually dictates how strong their magic will be. If their horn has a swirled line on it, they generally will be VERY good at magic. Alternatively, segmented horns (regular segmented or scattered segmented) are indicative of a more average understanding and use of magic. Like in the show, Sunburst is knowledgable on magic so he gets a swirled horn, BUT he is not good at magic at all. Rarity and his daughter Vintage Velour are a bit more skilled in basic things but not by too much.
- At some point he lost his beloved robes, and Rarity was very eager to fix them up. Initially she “upgraded” them to something a bit more fancy and he graciously accepted, but later on she noticed he just didn’t seem comfortable enough in them, and made him a replica of his old set. He was thrilled and wore them much more often than the newer ones. Overall, he’s pretty sentimental about pretty much everything he owns, and would rather keep things the same than change them.
Soarin’ Skies, mostly known as just Soarin’, is the most chill of the “dad 6”. Not only is he pretty easy going, but he’s a very relaxed counterpart to his wife Pinkie. Even as a foal, with his big aspirations, he was still very “go with the flow”. As an adult, nothing changed. Making it into the Wonderbolts made him more lazy, considering he had a good job now and could afford to rest between shows and practices. Romance had the same approach. Pinkie herself went through several relationships after her rocky divorce, but Soarin’ has always been the type to let relationships sort of happen to him as opposed to seeking them out. However, when he was introduced to Pinkie through Rainbow, he became very smitten with Pinkie and her still-young son and started making an effort to see both of them. That flip made his sister High Winds very surprised! He still is a bit lazy, but only when he’s not needed. Otherwise he’s a very doting father to his four kids, legally adopting Romeo (“Lil’ Cheese”) after he and Pinkie married.
- Although he is not much older than Pinkie, he is going gray pretty early. His grey streak in his hair used to make him a bit self conscious. He used to dye it but realized that if Pinkie was embracing her two-tonedness, then he should too! His hair is getting lighter with age too (his hooves are the colour his hair used to be) but he doesn’t mind much.
- He calls Pinkie his “favourite pie” or any variations of that. “Sweetie Pie”, “Sugar Cookie”, etc. They’re definitely the gooey sweet couple.
- Soarin’ is definitely the type of guy to buy his wife stuff when she doesn’t even ask for it, with his love language being gifting. This has lead to her getting cute hats, pins, scarves, leggings, socks, and even special horseshoes. She loves it! He doesn’t get as much for the kids but mostly because they asked him not to….. he still buys them sweets to show he cares, though.
