I adopted this pony years ago and finally gave her an anthro ref and place in Capricorn Reef. Well, kind of. Briar lives in Los Pegasus and works at a tattoo and piercing parlor called Ink and Thorns where she has been inking ponies, griffons and other species for over 20 years. After only a few years into her tattooing apprenticeship, she had a one night stand with a charming stallion who turned out not to be so charming the next morning. When she found out she was pregnant, Briar heavily considered putting the baby up for adoption, but after seeing her sweet Artemis’s face for the first time, she knew that there was nothing that was going to tear her away from her baby.

Life certainly wasn’t easy, living paycheck to paycheck and having to rely on generous neighbors and the local soup kitchens for aid. Briar wished she could do more for Artemis, give her the new clothes and gadgets her daughter craved, but money was tight and sacrifices had to be made. Artemis’s teenage years were the hardest. They fought a lot… and when Artemis turned 18 and wanted to move out, Briar didn’t resist. Sure, she wanted to keep her daughter close so she could keep her safe, but who is she to stop her daughter from venturing out and finding her own path. That’s exactly what Briar did when she was her age.

Current day, Briar regularly checks Artemis’s social media sites to keep tabs but overall keeps to herself. When she is not working at the tattoo parlor, she likes going to bars with friends, spending nights at the park, visiting museums and art galleries, going to local art and music festivals, tattooing conventions and working on art in the seclusion of her apartment. Briar makes a career with her inkwork, but she wanted to be a painter growing up and has dozens of unfinished canvases cluttering her studio apartment. Sometimes inspiration hits and leaves in a single fleeting moment. Briar is currently single, never holding a relationship longer then a few months.
