GUNTER: “…and that’s why I prefer to be careful with national food of Purrahadan.”
VIXENS: (giggle)“Oh, what a story!…”
HENRIETTE: (suddenly appears and chases vixens off)“Shoo, pipsqueaks!”
GUNTER: “Ah, Ms. Melleyse! Now I was wondering if you accepted my invitation or not heh.”
HENRIETTE: “I wanted you to wonder a little, taphlar (“Captain”). Woman should not be too predictible, mmm?”
GUNTER: “A little intrigue never hurts, darling.”
HENRIETTE: “Though I am surprised you didn’t ask me again if I’ll arrive.”
GUNTER: “To make you think that I am desperate to see you again, Henriette? Oh no, don’t expect me to tickle your vanity like this.”
HENRIETTE: “But you ARE desperate to see me, don’t you try to hide it, taphlar.”
GUNTER: “I am not going to break your delusions, sweetheart.”
HENRIETTE: “Oh, you impossible karlis (“dog fox”)!”
(Music begins to play)
GUNTER: “Wanna dance?” (offers her hand)
HENIRETTE: “Do you even have to ask?” (takes his hand)
GUNTER: “Know how to dance foxtrot?”
HENRIETTE: “Of course, foxtrot - national dance of Alefex. It is often called “vulpine dance of love”, right?”
GUNTER: “It is always such a pleasure to talk to educated fox lady.”
(they begin to dance)
HENRIETTE: “So, what is this party about?”
GUNTER: “Lord Walsad celebrates the birth of his daughter Karena.”
HENRIETTE: “Ah, birth of child… it is such a great event.”
GUNTER: “You’ll celebrate this event one day too, Henirette.”
HENRIETTE: “Then make it happen, Gunter. You’ll always have my grattitude for that.”
GUNTER: “You have my word.”
HENRIETTE: “By the way, you are pretty good at foxtrot.”
GUNTER: “You are trying to say I am pretty good at “vulpine love”?”
HENRIETTE: “Perhaps. Aren’t you afraid of rumors though?”
GUNTER: “And what rumors are you referring to, sugar?”
HENRIETTE: “If people see famous vixenizer Volpent with one and the same too often, they may get the idea that good old Gunter begins to soften. Or that he finally got caught on the “hook”. Aren’t you afraid of that, laturrah? (“darling”)”
GUNTER: “It depends on how tantalising that “hook” is”.
HENRIETTE: “So do you find the “hook” tantalising?”
GUNTER: “Perhaps.”
