I’m experimenting using MidJourney to generate background settings. AI art generation is still, by far, not perfect. For instance, it’ll still usually make shapes that suggest objects without actually looking like any particular object in detail. But MidJourney is capable of making really nice color palettes, balanced compositions, and irregular picture elements, which is an excellent starting point for drawing over.
