Friday Afternoon

Mindy coasts her scooter into the garage. She returns from a long morning of work, muscles sore from hours of carrying vent and ductwork parts up several flights of office stairs.

Removes her hoof shoes and helmets, won’t be needing those, leaves them on a shelf by the garage door. There was nothing left for her to do today, so she was looking forward to the rest of the day just no clothes and chill.

She passes by Cass’s room, who despite being mid-stream, waves to her. Cass smiles before returning to her game and chatting with her viewers.

Strips down her work clothes as she walks down the hall toward the small laundry room, discarding her clothing into an open hamper. Now nude, she stretches, has a deep double yawn, and heads to the kitchen. Wait, she doubles back to the laundry room, rummages through the clothes she had tossed in. She pulls out her phone, can’t forget that! Resumes walk to the kitchen.

Most of her room mates are still at work, but Hayden sits at the dining table with his laptop, nude from the waist down. Still wearing his usual dress shirt that he wears while working at the bar. He probably just got off work too, but was now hard at work on something on his laptop.

“Yo!” he greets her.

“Hey” “Sup”, Mindy returns the greeting, holding her phone and comfortably naked.

“There’s some chickpea salad in the fridge if you want a sandwich. Cass made it I think.”

Mindy walks to the sink, “Just had lunch at work like literally an hour ago”, “I’ll have some for dinner.” Fetches a blue glass from the cabinet and fills it. She drinks deeply with her left, then another with her right. Lets out a satisfied noise.

She glances over to what Hayden is working on, but he’s just scrolling through a long feed of memes. She snickers. Yes, only memes now, she thinks. No more work until Monday.

Walks out into the den, no one else there, but there would be later. Stretches out on the huge couch, enjoys the feeling of freeness. She grins and closes her eyes tightly, raises her hoofs up into the air above her. Another stretch, another yawn. Her hoofs fall onto her chest, still clutching her phone.

She chills like this for a moment. Hayden comes into the den, carrying his laptop and an open beer.

“It’s the weekend”, “boooyy!” She splees, still in a lazy recline.

“Ye I know it!” He glees. Sits down on couch, sips from his beer, opens his laptop on the large cushioned ottoman “Nothing but memes and video games for two days!”.

The pair chat for a bit, both completely absorbed in their respective meme devices. They message each other links to videos. Videos about cooking, games, how jam is made, repairing a four decade old game console, just whatever man.

The videos go by, and the two do not move from their spots. For so long in fact, her ear had gone numb, and her cheek felt squishy. She had laid on one side for too long. How long were they there, couldn’t have been more than an hour, right? Glances at her phone, it had in fact been several.

“Oof…” she groans, sits up. Rubs her sore cheek.

Perhaps it was time to do something else? This thought leaves quickly, she fluffs her pillow and lays back down on her other side.
