I wanted to make a spiritual successor to (“https://www.deviantart.com/eukayoticprokaryote/art/A-God-s-Consolation-20082444”:https://www.deviantart.com/eukayoticprokaryote/art/A-God-s-Consolation-20082444) (which I now find to be rather cringey).  So, I made this.  In addition to my goal of making a non cringey picture, I also sought to work with multiple light sources, and to work on downwards angles.
Unfortunately, this piece turned out to be a slog to complete.  There ended up being too many layers competing with each other, which made it difficult to anticipate the visual result of modifying a few layers.  Also, my tablet started spazzing out towards the end of this.  Finally, as if that weren’t enough, I also caught a pretty miserable cold a couple of days ago.
Anyway, here it is.  I am glad to be done with it.
