Description
Back in 2003-2004, I was MAJORLY into FLCL. While it wasn’t my first foray into anime (I had been watching the Toonami block since it started), it was the first to open things up to me and let me realize how much anime there was, and how it was more than just spaceships, robots, and scantily clad women (though it certainly was that). It could be art, even if I was still mostly lusting after Aisha Clan Clan.
As such, my friend Kenfoxx drew this image in my sketchbook at a convention, depicting me as the lead character, Naota, with his characters Sonique and Kiya as Haruko and Mamimi, respectively. Later on, he added some effects and framing to make it what we see here, and he sent me a really nice Kinkos print of it as a Christmas present that year. I still have it, framed, and it is the oldest piece of furry work I have framed.
