Artwork by :iconitsbetsy:Commission. The artist has recently cleared her DA page and she said I could re-post them.Back in December of 2011, I commissioned Betsy Cole to do a series of artwork that would not be finished until the September of 2012. It shows animal characters from Disney Animated films about pets (so Bambi and Fox and the Hound were not included) as anthros dressed in outfits appropriate to the period each movie was set in. They were made in the order the films were released. I spent a lot of time finding model sheets for the characters and pictures of period fashion so that each drawing would look as authentic as possible. The first in the series is Lady and the Tramp. I consider it a true Disney classic. Not only is the art direction and the character design beautiful but I love these two as a couple.Anyway, they are wearing 1900s clothing. I had the idea to put Lady’s lisence on a necklace since it was an important plot element of the film. With the Tramp, I asked for his clothes to be a bit tathered to show the seperation of class. Also, while I was at first reluctant to have the Tramp do the “coat over the puddle” routine Betsy proposed, I realized that it would in character for him to do that for Lady.
