Commission. The artist has recently cleared her DA page and she said I could re-post them.

Back in December of 2011, I commissioned Betsy Cole to do a series of artwork that would not be finished until the September of 2012. It shows animal characters from Disney Animated films about pets (so Bambi and Fox and the Hound were not included) as anthros dressed in outfits appropriate to the period each movie was set in. They were made in the order the films were released. I spent a lot of time finding model sheets for the characters and pictures of period fashion so that each drawing would look as authentic as possible.

The fifth and final one in the series is Bolt. I loved the film when it first came out. While I haven’t seen it in a while, I do recognize what it did right compared to other CGI talking animal film. For one thing, I liked that they actually moved and behaved like animals. Also, while the plot was basic and reminiscent of other films, at least it was well executed. Finally, I loved the three main characters. Bolt is deluded but he never comes off as frustraiting and you can understand where he is coming from, Mittens is snarky but also caring, and Rhino is comic relief done right.

Anyway, this is the three going cross country. I had to give Betsy a lot of pre production material since it can be hard to transfer CGI designs onto 2D material. She even ordered the Art of Bolt book for herself.
