More concept art regarding the Ajshar, the catfolk species of my fantasy setting, and helmet designs as well.  
If I had time I’d do a whole reference on “how Ajshari warriors dress for battle and what are their military tactics”, but I think this idea will just end up in my neverending pile or works-I-will-never-do. XD
 
Regarding the helmet, the crest is made of very thin metal, and it’s main purpose is to protect the ear and cover the ear holes on the actual “main” helmet. The “beak mask” is worn by sliding it down that metal “stick” on the forehead, and then by securing it on the sides thanks to two sets of pins.  
The overall aesthetic is meant to symbolize the Raakish bird, one of the apex predators living in Ajshari lands. These giant terror-birds are considered sacred animals and used as war-mounts by nobility and by the desert nomads.
