Keeping to himself with old discarded manuals in the security dept. armory’s foyer, Rameshvara becomes slightly perturbed by the ordnance seen passing to and from the armory; not out of any dovish sentiment, but because of the witnessed arsenal lacking much that’d utilize the sheer physical strength of a synth, powersuit, or mech, besides the ludicrously-sized heavy guns occasionally rolled by on miniature cranes…
 
Temptation almost has him decide to leave for the ship’s R&D deck to devise something neither ballistic or linear, but he remains in place.

he finds a message from amy, asking for a private meeting in her office, a postscript informing him it was only tangentially related to earlier that day.

Dismayed, he sends a message to Riggs on the business he’s been called for, then heads for the bridge.

Amy: “sorry to spring this on you so abruptly… but Sada and Omega gave me troubling news just earlier, something here… is messing with synthbrains, and if we don’t figure out what’s behind it, we may have to pack up and mark this system as untenable. or sell it to a synthhater society.”

Riggs may distrust tech although people who use tech and excel have been welcomed aboard, for instance the repeatedly-mentioned heavy unit Ginger, moving along with an exosuit and heavy weapons. Mechs surely wouldn’t store such large munitions in such a small area, instead using a secured part of the hangar, although it can certainly be said more synths wouldn’t be a bad thing- at least, for those who are not biased.
 
Riggs eventually makes it to her office, deciding to just work on small things until he arrives.
