I wouldn't go for Furby and Furbi.

Also I think that the character deserves having at least two names. Such as a first and a last name, or something like "Nuzzles the Furball". Or anything else more distinct. Of course only one part of it will be mostly used by people, but I'd like a full name, to give an existing example would be Miles "Tails" Prower, which is first, nick-, and last name.
