It doesn't. We're pretty screwed either way.
Now if you like one of the candidates or something, that's fine and you're entitled to your opinion.
But to see my perspective, pretend the candidates are Hitler and Stalin, with (insert candidate you're okay with here) running in a 3rd party that is guaranteed to get fewer than 5% of the popular vote. What good does voting do in that scenario? I used to think that voting for the 3rd party would send a message to "Stalin's" camp saying, "Hey I like your party, but you're a phony who won't actually bring about positive change.
Now I'm looking at it and I'm like, "They're too stupid to even care who I vote for. If my candidate loses the primary, which I already voted in close to a year ago, then I'm pretty much screwed. I already voted. My candidate lost. Why vote again? The "lesser evil" is a myth.
Both candidates are war hawks who will be responsible for thousands of innocents dead in the middle east. Both will continue to fund Israel and Turkey who in turn are funding Azerbaijan to slaughter Armenians in the Nagorno-Karabakh region. 97% of the gravesites in the region have Armenian names and there are thousands of Armenian cultural sites there, yet the media portrays it as a "disputed territory" without picking sides even as shells with Israel and our names' on them fly into Armenian fucking churches.
I'm not having that on my consciousence. I'm not voting for someone who doesn't give a flying fuck. Neither of the frontrunners can be trusted with our military and trusted to care about innocent human lives. Fuck em both, they're both criminals and I hope they both die soon. This country is so fucked, but at least if Trump wins, then the bastard is out in 4 years and we have a chance at a real progressive in office 4 years from now, whereas if Biden wins we might not have a real progressive in office for 12 or 16 years- bare minimum of at least 8.
