This is actually the 4th “Challenge Tuesdays” sketch stream done, but I didn’t feel the other two (#‘s 2 and 3) were postable, since they basically came out as large sketch dumps, or incredibly rough, or involve multiple full images. Challenge Tuesdays isn’t necessarily about making pretties, after all: it’s about targeting specific trouble-spots of mine :P
 
That said, this particular Challenge Tuesday was “Single Layer, No Pen Pressure.” Basically, all pen pressure settings were turned off (size, opacity, flow, etc) and the pen was set to 100% opacity (size could still be altered manually, though). This forced me to think more carefully about shapes and communicating them clearly, breaking my reliance on softer edges & gradients to define depth and form.
 
I was also sorely missing the exercise of my old thumbnail sheets, and this provided a chance to return to that practice. I used to do more of them, and should do more of them >:V
