Description
An enfield is a chimeric creature. Its body looks like that of a fox, with forelegs of an eagle and feathers all over its body. These creatures can vary greatly in appearance, also having the body features of a lion, wolf, or hound. The enfield had a role in stories as being a guardian of chieftains or leaders: the Celts believed that enfields would guard the bodies of their leaders who had fallen in battle, in order to prevent them from being carried away by enemies and treated unjustly after death.
