Yeah, I’m definitely more excited about this than I should be, but honestly, I just couldn’t help myself.
 
With characters like Orbot, Cubot, and potentially Shadow, being planed to appear, I’m sure many of us are / have been wondering; if there are other characters in the sonic universe appearing in Boom as well, what would they look like? Would their appearance change a little or a lot? Would their personalities & traits be the same or altered as well?
 
Well after the good amount of positive feedback regarding my take on Rouge so far, I decided to post one for Cream the rabbit & her Chao companion Cheese.
 
And boy, do I have a LOT to say about these two. >_<
 
Firstly, the reason I did Cream & Cheese next is because I was always fascinated by their characteristics. At only the age of 6, Cream has been able to accomplish many feats that the other characters of the sonic universe can do, and on rare occasions, even best them at times. Whether it be riding extreme gear, or facing off alongside her friends in battle, this young rabbit is surely destined to be a fantastic hero whenever she reaches Sonic’s age due to the early life experiences she receives, along with other characters like Tails.
 
And this is amplified by the fact she is the only one who is best friends with a Chao, which were often hinted at being the children of chaos. Her partnership with Cheese in the series has sometimes made Cream a much more in-depth character in terms of abilities than many fans take her for granted, especially in the gameboy advanced series. Its most likely her constant non-playable character appeal came from the fact that she was simply too young to be on adventures all the time in the video game’s main series. Coupled with the fact that she was just annoying to listen to half the time.
 
So for the Sonic Boom universe, I would depict Cream & Cheese as the best underdog characters in the series, who are often overlooked by the other characters, especially villains, due to her age and their cute appearances. In order to make themselves more formidable in battle, Tails helped them design a unique walking mech that acts as a mobile cannon called “the Garden Guardian”, built out of scraped parts from Eggman’s robots. Utilizing its different defensive functions, Cream & Cheese immediately became the protectors of the hub world’s Chao garden, & to prevent Eggman’s creations from destroying / taking over the sacred areas Chao reside in.
 
Cream’s traits -  
Instead of a dress, Her outfit would resemble a pilot’s attire, due to her flying capabilities and acquired beginner piloting experience thanks to Tails  
Her ears would be much more ambidextrous for inside & outside combat. from griping objects to punching foes and even slapping them silly, Cream’s ears would be much more useful here than just allowing her to fly, with or without the Garden Guardian  
Along with her mother Vanilla, Cream is the only character to fully understand the Chao language, translating for Sonic and friends whenever the cause arises. Though it would be unclear as to why Cream & Vanilla are the only ones to do so, it would be constantly hinted to viewers that their family has an unusual history in Chao study. Cream is also the only one who Cheese will properly listen to, due to their close connection as friends and partners.  
While she still retains her mannerisms / common courtesy taught by her mother, her personality would gain a slight degree of bitterness due to others babying her & Cheese, especially at times when they are capable of completing a task by themselves. This results in Cream partaking in missions she has no business being in, and using the excuse of “wanting to prove her bravery”.  
Cheese’s traits -  
In terms of appearance, Cheese will probably have one of the most drastic changes out of the Sonic cast. Being promoted from the average garden-variety neutral chao, to a legendary Chaos Hero Chao, or as they are officially called; “Angel Chao”. The reason for this change would be to emphasize Cheese as a protagonist, due to Chaos Chao stats being the strongest level for a Chao, and the Angel Chao in particular being acquired by raising with the Hero characters in Adventure 2. Unlike Adventure 2 however, Chaos Chao can die, but only from an old enough age, and instead, they are only immune / invulnerable to diseases & physical blows respectively.  
(plus, I thought it would be an interesting twist with Cheese’s new colour scheme to have him slightly resemble “blue cheese”. ;))  
With his new Chaos power, Cheese is now able to execute abilities he couldn’t before, such as many different types of barriers. Ranging from covering himself when he tackles a robot, to covering large objects like Cream & her friends to protect against attacks. He can also utilize a small amount of levitation, which he uses to help Cream lift the Garden Guardian into the air for flight maneuvering. Although Chaos Chao could never execute powers like these in past games, the Sonic Boom universe could give them the opportunity to make them more intimidating towards the regular characters by having these psychic-like abilities.  
After being fired from the Garden Guardian’s cannon, Cheese’s offensive abilities become much stronger for a short period of time. He can fly at super speed and blast through solid mass repeatedly, instantly destroying extremely powerful machines / robots. Due to the amount of strength the Chaos Cannon can pull off however, Cheese can only use this powerful boost for certain and / or immediate situations.  
All n’ all, I would like to think that this would give Cream & Cheese’s roles as side characters much more significance, and perhaps receive a better reputation than just being the high-pitched innocent little girl and her floating pet. Although this would all fall on the fact of whether or not the Chao are included in the Sonic Boom universe in any shape or form.
