One day, as Jasper was out, he came across Janice, who was always eager to make new friends. “Hello”, she said, “I’m Janice. You must be new here. What’s your name?” Jasper didn’t respond. “It’s okay. There’s no need to be shy.” Jasper was still silent. Janice continued, “Is it because of my nose? It’s okay, it’s from my dad. You’re likely to know him by name.” Jasper continued to be silent. “Go on,” Alberta said. “You could use a new friend or two.” Jasper slowly approached Janice. “Hello”, he said faintly. “My name’s Jasper.” “Pleasure to meet you, Jasper”, said Janice as they shook hooves.
