Description
Opel Astra - Clean (20200908)
In case you didn’t know, Furbooru’s mascot furball is called Astra. If the joke still makes no sense, there’s a car model by Opel called Astra - Opel Astra.
First I painted in MSPaint and it was quite okay. I liked how the brush’s strokes looked, but I was annoyed about the white background. Unfortunately I couldn’t remove the it as the paint wasn’t fully opaque. So I went to redo it in GIMP… several times… till I got frustrated and created a clean vector version. And here’s the result.
Opel’s logo vector was available on Wikipedia and had opel.de as source, artist unknown. Furbooru’s logo vector is taken from >>788. Aureai was okay with this edit and staff on Discord didn’t object against it either. Pedantic as I am, it had to be as pixel perfect as I could get. While doing so, I discovered that the 5000×5000 PNG file had a minimally a corner cut off by 3 or 4 pixels. Aureai revisited the vector, fixed it, uploaded the actual SVG file, and now everyone will live happily ever after. :-p
Anyways, after finishing this, I retried painting it myself and got a little more acceptable result.
