Description

My theory about Opaline Arcana from G5: Her next plot in Chapter 5 will probably have references to Greek mythology & history. Here goes the evidence:
Opaline says Alicorns came from a place called “Skyros”. There’s actually a place called “Skyros” in real life, it’s an island located in Aegean Sea, Greece.
“Skyros” as in Greek “Σκύρος”, originally means “stone debris”. And “Opaline” derives from “opal”, which can be viewed as a kind of precious stone.
The voice actor of Opaline Arcana is Athena Karkanis, obviously a name of Greek ancestry, which the actor is indeed of Greek descent.
Opaline calls herself a “Fire Alicorn”. Do I have to mention how important fire is in Greek culture & history? Prometheus stole fire, Hephaestus forged with fire, Phoenix reborn from fire, fire is one of the four elements in Thales’ theory, and don’t forget Greek Fire was used by Byzantines as a secret weapon for hundreds of years.
The Greeks LOVE purple. From ancient Gods to aristocrats of Hellenistic Period to Byzantine Basileus, they loved purple. And Opaline happens to be purple. (btw can we call her “Opaline Porphyrogenita”? lol)
So, to be concluded, now we have an Alicorn, who is purple, who says she represents fire, who was born in an island coincidentally shares name with a real life Greek island, whose voice actor is of Greek descent. This must have been a total coincidence… or not?
