Anastasia is a statistician by training, though back when I was first drawing her a lot I tried out different character backgrounds so see what fit. I happened to be taking a few stats classes at the time and needed the motivation of a muse skilled in the art of mathematically teasing out those invisible forces running our world. Maybe not that romantic, but it’s still encouraging to imagine there’s a nerdy arctic vixen looking over my shoulder whenever I have to play statistician. And for as often as I have to do it, I could use such a muse :P When I came across the pictured book (yeah, it’s real) I knew exactly who to hand it off to.
