Chilla’s New Toy
Albert Drosselmeyer is Chilla’s mom’s older brother
Good things always came from uncle Drosselmeyers workshop. Wonderful puppets, mechanical dolls, carved wooden soldiers peeked out of gift boxes waiting to be wrapped. Drosselmeyer was not only Chilla’s uncle, But he was also a famous toy maker. he could make toys that move, music boxes that chimed like bells & clocks that called the hours as sweetly as a Nightingale.
he loved giving presents to many children. all year long he worked deep into the night making toys to bring to his niece Chilla on her Birthday, Hanukkah or just the casual surprise when she came to visit him. Chilla even had toys he had made for her when she was born. that Chilla still kept throughout her childhood.
A master craftsmen by reputation he knew not to rush.
on his work bench kissy doll staring at him from his work bench her Tu-tu shimmered her tiara sparkled like diamonds. With a twinkle in his eyes uncle Drosselmeyer winded up the key on her back & like magic little doll displayed a graceful pose & stood up on the tips of her toes like a real Ballerina that left the toy maker laughing & clapping his hands.

He knew the Ballerinas dance would make Chilla laugh too.
Chilla came to her uncles toy shop that weekend after school she loved spending time with her favorite uncle.

CHILLA: Oh I’ve missed you so much uncle
DROSSELMEYER : ive missed you too & I have another surprise for you to my favorite little niece
Chilla giggled with excitement. Chilla bouncing up & down with Glee.
CHILLA: what did you get me ,what you get me.
DROSSELMEYER: come with me my sweet little Nightingale
Drosselmeyer led Chilla back to his workshop. Chilla awed over her uncles toys as she looked around the room.
CHILLA: oh Uncle this is the best place ever.
DROSSELMEYER: ah but I didn’t give you your present yet. close your eyes sugarplum
CHILA: giggled covering her eyes with her hands
DROSSELMEYER: no peeking.
Drosselmeyer reached up into a cabinet & took out the little ballerina doll
DROSSELMEYER: Ok you can open your eyes now. Drosselmeyer said as he winded up the doll & set it dancing on the table
CHILLA: Oh…… Chilla cooed with a smile. at the dancing ballerina.
CHILLA: you made this just for me.!?
DROSSELMEYER: just for you my dear. Drosselmeyer rubbed his nieces head gently
Chilla leaped into her uncles arms & hugged him tightly.
CHILLA: It’s beautiful uncle thank you. your the best uncle, in the whole world.
DROSSELMEYER : & your my favorite niece. my sweet little Nightingale
CHILLA: I’m your only niece.
