Tyler Talon Bio

I figured it was time to finally expand on a character that has popped up a lot in my artwork in my artwork, but has never been really explored much. But no more! Ladies and gentlemen, all the way from Hollywild, this is…TYLER TALON!

Personality:
Tyler is a kind, optimistic, upbeat and idealistic young tiger. He’s very bold and adventurous, always seeking excitement for him and his friends. He doesn’t appear to be afraid of the unknown often, as he was willing to journey all the way to Hollywild. He’s very loyal to the ones he cares about and will not turn his back on them.
But as likable as he is, he’s not without his inner demons. Due to spending three years in a lousy orphanage after the loss of his parents, and constantly being turned down by potential families out of fear of his species, Tyler starts to lose trust in others, making him feel alone and unwanted, and believing the only one he can truly count on his himself. But after finding a new loving family in Lorenzo and Elaine, he tries to see more good in other animals, no matter how outlandish or uncaring they may seem.
Having a strong love for music, Tyler is an extremely passionate and artistic guitarist, and dreams of growing up to become a great rockstar. His passion for music, however, can lead him to making some dicey choices, like striking a deal with a famous music mogul that ends up getting him a performing job at a grubby music pub. But he is still a kid, so he just doesn’t know better, and is able to learn from his mistakes and use them to his advantage.
Tyler cares deeply about his new family. He looks up to his new father, Lorenzo, as they are both passionate musicians and can almost always be seen practicing with each other. He seems to be a little more close to Elaine, Who is always smothering him with motherly love. And he’s also a great big brother to his little rabbit sister Lily, always spending time with her and playing music to her. But he does prefer playing before a bigger audience, Lily will always be Tyler‘s biggest fan. After so many years of being alone and getting rejected, he’s glad to be surrounded by a loving group that accepts him for who he is, and learns that you don’t have to be the same species to be family.

Bio:
Tyler grew up in the small town of Battle Claw, TN. He was a lot smarter than other kids his age. From a young age, he established incredible guitar skills from his father, Terence, who was a musician, and superb cooking skills from his mother, Everley. Every Saturday night, while his father was working under the hood of his car, he would tell Tyler everything he knew about life, the world, etc., while Tyler simply listened and held the flashlight. It was Tyler’s favorite thing to do with his father, aside from playing music together. Tyler’s overall favorite song has been “Desperado”, which’s father would sing to him at night as a lullaby. Tyler never really understood the meaning of the song, but little did he know that he was about to experience it for himself.
But then, at the age of 9, Tyler lost his parents in a car crash, and was sent to The Sunny Savanna Orphanage, where he dealt with the pains of prejudice and judgement, and has been dealing with crushing abandonment issues. No one ever wanted to adopt him out of fear of his species. On the night before his 12 birthday, Tyler knew he was getting too old to be put up for adoption. So he ran away from the orphanage with his two bunk mates (Levi the sporty yet poetic giraffe and Albert the inventive penguin) and hopped aboard a truck that was heading out west to the land where dreams come true, Hollywild! He figured he could put his guitar skill to the test out there and become a star. But sadly, that didn’t work out.
Tyler spent the next few weeks performing on the streets and earning money, sometimes doing better than other adult street performers. He had given up looking for a new family, knowing he can’t trust anyone else. One day, he was approached by a pretty bat girl named Cynthia Belfry, who was the daughter of a famous music mogul named Desmond Belfry. Impressed with his talents, Belfry agreed to be Tyler‘s manager, and Tyler was overjoyed, believing this could be a major milestone in his career. Unfortunately, Belfry could only start by giving Tyler a performing job at a grubby country-style pub called the Snake Pit. Tyler had a miserable time performing there, but at least the pay kept him off the streets.
Eventually though, Tyler was found by the police and sent to the nearest orphanage. It wasn’t as bad as the previous one he stayed at, but Tyler was still thinking “Here we go again.” But to his fortune, shortly after he was dropped off at the orphanage, a kindly wolf/deer couple named Lorenzo and Elaine came looking for a child. Tyler tried to be patient with this couple (but was still skeptical about interviewing with yet another potential family), but started to let down his defenses when he learned the wolf had a passion for playing guitar, just like him. And when Lorenzo and Elaine found out about Tyler’s tragic past and his journey to get to Hollywild, they knew right then and there that they HAD to adopt him. So they gave Tyler a new home with them and enrolled him in school. Tyler was hesitant at first for a while about this new couple, as so many years of rejection had made him lose his faith in others. But after getting so much love and appreciation from them, as well as eventually becoming a big brother after they adopted a baby rabbit named Lily, Tyler had a change of heart, quitting his job at the Snake Pit and his deal with Belfry, and just settling for being a regular kid with his new family. Tyler finally knew where he belonged.
