Description
The Shuvalla herd large snail like organisms in order to harvest the hard shells they produce. The creatures feed by burrowing into the ground, and sucking up minerals and nutrients from the soil. In the wild, these creatures form large protective shells to shield them from the elements, but the Shuvalla have figured out how to manipulate them into producing shapes and tools, along with armor. When they harvest the shells, the part they cut off becomes another separate creature. Once they have all the pieces they need, they place them into a pool of special fluids, and the individual organisms come together to create a living suit as one unified creature. The Shuvalla wear this suit as armor, as it amplifies the wearer’s movements. The armors are fed and cared for like a living thing, and some warriors let the creatures feed on their blood as a ritual to strengthen the bond between them. This snail like organism is one of the many creatures that were biologically engineered by the shuvalla before the fall of their old civilization.
