Nice try, Animal Crossing.
No matter how cute the little animal people may be, they barely have any real interaction with the player, and the game is little more than a miniature grind simulator. It amazed me how simplistic New Leaf was. I don’t know what I was expecting, but it definitely wasn’t a million dollars in debt and an ugly ox man that won’t leave my town and repeats the same three lines of dialogue every day. I guess it’s a thing more for city people that walk around meeting strangers, not people that live in a cabin in the deepwoods. I always thought it was a game about making friendships with terrifying abominations unto the lord, not buying couches to fill an endlessly expanding house of sorrows.
