True. There used to be fewer assholes, though. There was also a sizeable portion of the fandom that was in it for that or a similar reason. It wasn’t the whole fandom, but it’s obvious that the portion of the fandom that fosters positivity is smaller now, not only in total size, but also as a percentage of the whole.

Well not really, actually. “Love and tolerate” was just a 4Chan saying that was intended to be a counter to all the hate-filled memes out there. It was never really adopted as the fandom’s mission or motto or anything. You can love pastel-colored horses and still be a complete wanker, the two aren’t mutually exclusive. There never really was a “point” to the fandom other than liking a TV show. Anything else is wishful thinking from some imagined “good old days” of 2010-2012.

Still, if they want to make things less stressful for their site then they should probably act in a way that will not start fires around the people who sign up for their site.
The original point of their fandom was to love and tolerate.

Just a note that we do have to remember sysadmins are volunteers and likely have another RL job to do for pay, and that they’re also humans with their own flaws and hangups. In 23 years in furry fandom I’ve tried to work around that, with… some success.

Derpibooru is a little nuts, especially since they’re admins are not very professional. They all cling to decade old memes and traditions like it’s a cult of something like Nyx (MLP OC) hate.
It’s been almost ten years and they can’t let it go!

I have the most downvoted image on ponybooru because everyone decided it wasn’t pony enough. (It’s a Pony/Wolf hybrid, but they allow other hybrid oc images!)
And also got a lot of hate from the community.

Luckily on here no one can say it’s bad because they see it as a furry oc rather than a pony oc.
The Derpibooru community is nicer though and on there my OC images have like 60+ upvotes. Which isn’t very hard to do on Derpibooru.

The dumb war between bronies and furries. Look, before “brony” was ever a thing, there existed the very first MLP porn image (NSFW) THIS (NSFW)
And guess what? If you ask anyone in that time what they’d call it, they would say “some furry porn of ponies”.
So it was RIDICULOUS for the whole pony vs fur debate to ever begin.
Shit it’s why I love this site, because now you can post both of them and no one will get mad. I already started getting hate on Derpibooru about my Galia oc just because she seemed to be more of a “furry” than a pony related character.
The whole ordeal upsets me. I just want to finally have a booru I can call home and I hope this is it, ya know?
