-I’m sorry if it’s mentioned elsewhere, I tried searching on the forums but found nothing, but why do some OC characters have (what I assume is) an artist name in brackets and some don’t? Are there specific rulse on how to tag OC characters?-

Forgot that the furry community is much much broader than the brony community and having multiple OCs with the same name is more inevitable.

When I upload art of somebody’s OC I always add (owner name) in bracket’s unless:
 
  • character name is the same as FA/Twitter account name  
  • name consists of two parts that seem unique
     
    But even with the 2nd option I think having owner name in the tag is beneficial because then you can easily search for all characters that belong to one person even when you don’t know what their names are.
     
    Sometimes the owner name can’t be determined, for example when character name is taken from Derpibooru tags when uploading an image from there and then it ends up without (owne name), but if somebody knows the name it should preferably be edited to contain it.

Should I delete the old OC tags on all the images and add the new ones?
 
I retagged them but as the tag oc:minttu was being watched by 4 users I aliased it into oc:minttu (loimu) instead of just deleting and adding a new tag. I think with having two “t” in the name it’s unique enough so that it can be aliased this way.
 
edit: Am I linking tags the wrong way? The links don’t seem to work :/
 
You need to replace the “:” after "oc" with “-colon-” and they will work:
 
oc:minttu to oc:minttu (loimu)
oc:marja to oc:marja (loimu)
oc:iida to oc:iida (loimu)
