Because I’ve seen this kind of unawareness a number of times:
If an artist add a number to their handle (especially number 1), it just means that either their actual handle wasn’t available anymore at the respective platform, or the first account has been abandonded or banned for which reason whatsoever.
Therefore, when tagging an artist, this circumstance has to be taken into consideration. It’s logical to choose the actual artist name and not just how a specific handle is indicated. The other versions might be used as stated aliases.
